“Moments are nothing but shreds of time lodged in memory, and carried locked away in my heart until, they fade or peel away to dust”.
My work is centred on the fleeting moments of time. Nostalgic contemplation of certain instants underlines my interest. Transforming memories from feelings to tactile and tangible objects is my way of reminding the wearer and viewer of the beauty of the moment.
I attempt to introduce the actual quality of memories itself. Careful consideration to the material has led me to the intuitive use of yarn in my work, which suggests temporality, fragility and preciousness. This technique further enables the me to echo the malleable quality of memories. The use of photographs is to enforce the essence of the moment and to introduce the importance of memento.
These elements in the my work captures fragmentary everyday narratives that make up our collective memories.
